Cork
Cork is formed in the outer bark of the cork oak, which is mainly found in the Mediterranean region.
The bark is a plant tissue that consists of many cells filled with a gaseous, air-like mixture.
Cork is peeled off sustainably and gently, without damaging the tree in any way. The bark grows back completely and takes on a more uniform structure after each harvest.
A cork oak can be harvested up to 20 times in the course of its life without any problems. Cork is super light, dimensionally stable and has excellent elasticity and resilience. STRÖBER uses this climate-regulating natural product in all footbed variants.
