rheumatoid foot
The term rheumatoid foot, or more precisely rheumatoid splayfoot, describes the changes that can occur in the foot as a result of a chronic inflammatory joint disease. Rheumatoid foot is characterized by a pronounced splaying of the forefoot (splayfoot), a sinking of the longitudinal arch and a buckling of the hindfoot (flat foot) as well as malpositioned toes such as hallux valgus and hammer toes. In the area of the feet and ankle joints, the effects of the inflammatory rheumatic disease can be seen in the tendon sheaths, tendons and joint mucosa. The foot and ankle joints are also affected. The inflammatory processes lead to changes in tendons and joints. As a result, arthrosis (joint wear and tear) can develop. In addition to the treatment prescribed by your doctor, wearing sufficiently wide shoes and using particularly soft materials have proven to be effective. STRÖBER has the Sensibel line for the special requirements of foot problems as well as therapeutic shoes in its product range. When choosing, please pay particular attention to the width and your specific needs.
