pointed foot
A pointed foot describes the deformity resulting from a shortening of the calf muscle (gastrocnemius muscle): the foot is plantarflexed, a return to neutral zero in the upper ankle joint is no longer possible.
This deformity occurs in spastic (=peripheral) paralysis of the lower limb and in comatose patients whose feet are not moved for a long time. The latter is a nursing error.
