Hallux

The big toe is the first toe on the medial side of the foot, which, unlike the other toes, consists of only two phalanges.

hallux rigidus

This is the name given to the degenerative disease of the base joint of the big toe (osteoarthritis). Men are more frequently affected than women.

hallux valgus

The most common and most significant toe deformity - mostly in women. Hallux valgus is characterized by an outward deviation of the big toe.

Hammer or claw-like flexion of a toe. The hammer toe is characterized by the fact that either only the end joint of the toe is flexed or the middle joint of the toe is flexed and the end joint is extended.
